The first superyacht launch of 2019 took place today in Aalsmeer, the Netherlands where Feadship revealed its new 58-metre Vitruvius motor yacht named Najiba. Known as project 699 during her build, she is designed by Philippe Briand and is the first Feadship to feature the work of Briand’s studio Vitruvius.
The new owners commissioned the custom project and requested a custom ‘lifestyle’ superyacht suitable for a family. The results include a top speed of 16 knots and sustainable fuel consumption, which is as low as 11 litres per nautical mile while cruising at 12 knots, thanks to her ‘meticulously planned’ architecture.
Studio Liaigre was selected as the interior designer of the yacht who created a style that ‘feels like a whitewashed villa on the beach’ for the new experienced owners. The layout onboard features two master staterooms for both the owners and four staterooms for an additional eight guests. Guests can also enjoy an open-plan main deck for unrestricted views throughout the whole superyacht whilst being tended to by a crew of 14.
The project managers at MCM oversaw the build of the vessel during its construction in Aalsmeer. “Najiba is a truly remarkable superyacht and the family are thrilled with what you have created for them,” commented MCM’s Peter Wilson who acted as the owner’s project manager during the build.
Feadship director Henk de Vries agreed. “We are exceptionally proud of our contribution to this stunning 58-metre vessel. Najiba has a beautiful, complex interior with numerous unique features. The clients are big fans of architecture and design and took great pride in what they were creating. They were also determined to provide a comfortable environment for their families both at sea and when moored.”
