Charleston South Carolina United States
$839,000 USD

Yacht for sale is a 2008 KROGEN 48' "Kimberly Ann" 48 Widebody Motor Yacht in Charleston, South Carolina, USA.

KIMBERLY ANN is a 48' Krogen North Sea Widebody featuring a desirable three-cabin, two-head layout and is currently the latest model available on the market in this three-cabin configuration. The three-cabin arrangement offers a level of versatility not found in the standard two-cabin layout. The additional cabin provides two extra berths for family, guests, or crew. When not needed for accommodation, it easily serves as convenient storage space, a hobby room, or an ideal area for luggage and larger cruising gear. Just as importantly, this flexibility comes without compromising the comfort of the starboard guest cabin.

For today’s cruiser, this configuration enhances both livability and practicality, making KIMBERLY ANN especially well-suited for extended cruising or entertaining many guests aboard. She has been thoughtfully cared for by three resolute owners throughout her life. Her first owners equipped her for full-time Caribbean cruising and maintained her to exacting standards. The second owners expanded her cruising history along the Atlantic coast, through the Florida Keys, and into the Bahamas, upholding that same high level of care and meticulous maintenance. The current owners have continued this strong stewardship while enjoying local cruising and entertaining in the Carolinas.

Construction

Hull and superstructure molds are constructed from high-grade female tooling. Hull construction includes use of USA-made Cook® gelcoat. Hand-Laid Knytex® fiberglass construction with closed-cell PVC sandwich core in topsides. Solid fiberglass below waterline with blister-resistant vinylester resin utilized on first two laminates below the waterline, with Kevlar® reinforcements. Superstructure includes end-grain balsa core and surface mats for print-through reduction.
Teak aft and side decks complement the vessel’s exterior. The boat and foredecks have GripTex® non-skid finish, while the bulwarks have molded plank lines with gel coat finish.
Polyurethane-formulated marine sealants are used at the hull-to-deck, boat deck joints, and exterior fittings. Marine-grade plywood bulkheads with molded fiberglass hat section stringers. Interior finishes include teak veneer walls and cabinetry with satin varnish.

Saloon

Bright, open, and inviting, the saloon aboard KIMBERLY ANN welcomes you from the fully covered aft deck through double aluminum weather-tight doors. Designed for comfort and enjoyment, the space combines timeless yacht styling with a warm, airy atmosphere.

A free-standing teak hi/low table provides a versatile setting for dining or entertaining, while two Ekornes Stressless chairs offer an ideal place to relax. Natural ventilation is provided through three sliding screened windows, complemented by a Phantom retractable screen at the aft cockpit doors. Custom-fitted carpeting adds comfort underfoot and can be removed to reveal the rich teak flooring that runs throughout the interior. As the final 48' model built with the traditional molded headliner and teak accents, KIMBERLY ANN reflects the classic craftsmanship and interior character expected of a proper yacht.

Galley

The U-shaped Galley is just forward of the saloon on the starboard side.  It is equipped with stainless-steel appliances, and the granite countertops provide plenty of room for meal preparation.  Ventilation is provided through a sliding window with screen.  Opposite the galley is a teak bookcase/bar with matching granite countertop and a 12" round opening portlight with screen.

The Starboard guest stateroom has a full-sized fore-and-aft fixed berth, a fold-down Pullman berth, and a fold-down desk. Additional accommodations include a chest of drawers, under-berth storage, overhead bookshelf, and hanging locker. Ventilation is provided via two opening portlights with screens.

Pilothouse

The raised pilothouse aboard KIMBERLY ANN delivers the elevated perspective and unmistakable, authoritative pilothouse presence that make this style of trawler so desirable. Designed for far more than navigation underway, it is equally suited as an inviting gathering space for morning coffee, casual meals, or relaxed conversation while enjoying the view.
An L-shaped settee provides an excellent vantage point and a comfortable dining area while cruising. It also converts to a double berth for guests or a generous single watch berth during extended passages.
At the helm, a Pompanette Platinum Series leather captain’s chair, dedicated electronics area, expansive North Sea angled windows, and outstanding sightlines create a comfortable and highly functional command station for both captain and crew.
Natural airflow is abundant through Dutch aluminum weather-tight doors to port and starboard, overhead screened hatches, opening side windows with screens, and two screened portlights.
